Dr. K. Venkataraman, former Director of the Zoological Survey of India (ZSI), is a distinguished scientist with extensive expertise in marine biodiversity, ecology, and conservation. He has made significant contributions to the study and conservation of India’s coastal and marine ecosystems, with particular expertise in coral reefs, marine fauna, and biodiversity management. As an Advisor to OMCAR Foundation, he provides valuable scientific guidance and supports the Foundation’s efforts in marine research, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable coastal ecosystem management.

Dr. T. Balasubramanian
Former Dean, CAS in Marine Biology
Annamalai University
Dr. T. Balasubramanian is a distinguished marine scientist and academician with over four decades of experience in marine biology, research, and education. He served as Director of the Centre of Advanced Study (CAS) in Marine Biology and as the Founding Dean of the Faculty of Marine Sciences at Annamalai University. His research contributions span marine biology, marine biodiversity, toxicology, and conservation.
He has made significant contributions to marine science through research, teaching, publications, and the mentoring of young researchers. His work also helped strengthen CAS in Marine Biology and its development as a major centre for marine science education and research.
As an Advisor to OMCAR Foundation, Dr. Balasubramanian provides valuable academic and scientific guidance, supporting the Foundation’s work in marine conservation, research, and environmental education.
